The 6 Days Umbwe Route is one of the most direct and challenging ways to summit Mount Kilimanjaro. Known for its steep ascent, dramatic ridges, and stunning scenery, the Umbwe Route is ideal for experienced trekkers seeking a more adventurous and less crowded path to the Roof of Africa.

Day 1 Arrival in Arusha
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel in Arusha. In the evening, your mountain guide will conduct a comprehensive briefing and equipment check to prepare you for the climb.
πΏ DAY 2 Umbwe Gate to Umbwe Cave Camp
After breakfast, drive to the Umbwe Gate for registration before beginning your trek through lush rainforest. The trail is steep and scenic, passing beneath towering trees and giant ferns as you ascend to Umbwe Cave Camp.

π³ Day 6 Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp and Descent
Around midnight, begin your summit push to Stella Point and continue to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. After celebrating your achievement, descend to Barafu Camp briefly before continuing to Mweka Camp for your final overnight. (Many operators also include an additional descent day to Mweka Gate, but this itinerary presents the climb as a 6-day trekking package.)
